Application
To apply for Financial Aid for the 2008-2009 school year, you can
either complete a paper FAFSA or complete the FAFSA online.
There are many advantages to applying online.
-
Your application is processed faster
-
Online logic allows you to complete only the sections you need based
on your circumstances
-
Online edits inform you of missing or inconsistent information
-
Receive an online confirmation of completion
-
Ensure that you meet application deadlines
You and/or your parent must have a PIN # from the U.S. Department of
Education to electronically sign your FAFSA. If you or your parent do
not have a PIN #, go to
http://www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jsp
to apply for one.
You should next download and complete the
FASFA on the Web Worksheet. The FAFSA on the Web Worksheet is designed to follow the online
FAFSA application. It is a much better tool to use than the paper FAFSA
when applying online. There is also a
Spanish FAFSA on the Web
Worksheet.
After your application is processed online, if you provided an email
address, you will receive an email with a link to your Student Aid
Report (SAR). If you did not provide an email address, you will receive
your SAR by regular mail. Be sure to check your SAR to make sure the
information is correct.
If you do not receive a response within three weeks, go to
www.fafsa.ed.gov
and select "Check the Status of a Submitted FAFSA."
