Bodnar Named Coach
of the Year |
|
The
Pacific Coast Conference selected women's volleyball
head coach Dede Bodnar as Coach of the Year for the 2005
season. Bodnar led her team to a 12-7 overall record and
an 8-4 conference record, good enough for third place in
the PCC. Both records were improvements over the 2004
season (8-10, 6-6 PCC).
Outside hitters Kelly
Kaiser and Caroline Soria were also honored by being
selected to the All-PCC team. Kaiser, who finished first
in conference in digs per game with a 9.79 average and
fourth in kills with 256, was named to the First Team
All-PCC. Soria, named to the Second Team, led the
conference in aces per game with a 0.68 average and
finished second in digs per game with a 6.89 average. |

Kaiser Selected As Women's Athlete
of the Week
Freshman outside hitter Kelly Kaiser has
been selected as the Player of the Week by Coach Dede
Bodnar for the week that ended Sunday, Nov. 6. Kaiser had
20 kills and 41 digs against Grossmont on Nov. 2 and
drowned nine kills in a sweep of Southwestern last Friday.
“She is not only a great player on the
court, but she works hard in practice, in every drill, and
wants to become the best player she can be,” said Coach
Bodnar. “She is a coach’s dream because she never
complains and just puts out 110 percent each and every
day.

"We have a great bunch of athletes who not only love to play the
game, but they get along better than any team I've ever had. We
are going to have a very fun season. I hope you have a chance to
come and see us play."
