Several student-athletes who have played
softball at San Diego City College under Head Coach LeeAnn Taylor have
moved on to 4-year universities.
Last
season's Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Year, Erika Rangel, is
now at the University of Mobile (Alabama). While at SDCC, Rangel made
the All-State Team in 2008 as well as the All-PCC in 2007 and 2008.
After
playing the 2008 with the Knights, Veronica Ollier is now the
shortstop/center fielder at Lees-McRae College in North Carolina. Ollier
is striving to become a veterinarian.
Amanda
Wilson has moved on to Cal State San Marcos after playing the 2007 and
2008 seasons at SDCC.
In
2007 Sarah Burns was named PCC Most Valuable Pitcher and was also named
to both the All-State and All-PCC Teams. Burns is now at Belhaven
College in Jackson, Miss.
Alicia Penner, who played for SDCC in 2006,
is now the first baseman at Minot State University in Minot, ND.
